Wholesome Coaster Set - Digital Pattern Download (PDF)
This pattern is designed to give you a variety of options to create your very own unique coaster set. This would be a great housewarming gift, or normal gift, or really just a great thing to make for yourself!
This pattern features the following techniques:
Knitted Cast-On
Cast-Off in Pattern
Linen Stitch
Intarsia** (Not every design features intarsia)
MATERIALS:
This pattern was designed using KnitPicks Dishie, a worsted cotton yarn with a tight spin that has high absorbency (to catch all that condensation!). The gauge is 7.5 stitches (in linen stitch) / inch. You don’t need to use Dishie, but if you choose to use a different yarn, just make sure that you pay close attention to gauge, needle size, and make a swatch in linen stitch to ensure you’ll end up with a consistent final product. One skein of Dishie is enough for MANY coasters, so you will have some yarn left over for future projects.
1 skein (100g, 190 yards) Dishie in Color A
1 skein Dishie in Color B
5 mm set of double pointed needles (2 needles) or
1 set of 5mm, 16 in. (or longer) circular needles (this is entirely based on your preference)
1 tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Cork coaster backing (totally optional!)
*Dishie colors used in sample coasters are Butterscotch (A) and Swan (B)
